To Be a Or Not to Be a Hero
One great question about Hamlet's character in the great Shakespearian tragedy Hamlet, is whether or not he is considered to be a hero. The definition of a hero is "a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, and strength." Most heroic stories depict a strong man with great powers that does something good and receives much gratitude from all the people. Hamlet is a story much different, but does that mean he isn't a hero? Breaking down Hamlet's character and motives for his actions presents heroic qualities that show that he too can be measured as the hero in all of us.
