Economy
During this time period, the economy flourished. Which ever country the mongol's conquered, they some way influenced and traded with. China brought silks and gunpowder, these were important contributions for clothing and advancing in combat strength. Honey, timber and furs to keep warm came from Russia. Persia contributed with grain, wool for the yurts and lavish rugs. Of course India brought spices to liven up the bland food they ate. They even received cork all the way from Spain. And thus through trading, people become friends and learn about new cultures, people, religions etc...This alone shows the powerful connections...
