Should marijuana be legalized for medical purposes as well as for medical use? The legalization of marijuana is a very controversial subject. I am completely for the use of marijuana for all purposes. Many years ago when our grandparents were teenagers, they were told that marijuana was a "weed with roots in hell" they were also told that it caused insanity, until many years later when proven studies showed that this was definitely false information. Marijuana is formed from a weed called hemp. Hemp is scientifically called Cannabis sativa. It is proven that it can grow with barely any care, as well as in almost any climate.
