The History of Ballet

Summary: A history of ballet from its orgins in early in the 16th century and milestones in the 1800s and 1900s.
Ballet is a very popular form of dancing. Everything that is around today has developed from someone or something in the past. Dancing was developed in the early sixteenth century, they called this dancing Ballet. Ballet was formed to give people satisfaction, as well as for entertainment. The word ballet comes from two Italian words. The first word is ballo, which means a dance, and balletto which means a little dance.

In 1581 Queen Elizabeth the first from England was very important and people tried to do anything that they could possibly do to please her. So Shakespeare organized a "dramatic ballet in the honor of the Queen." The dancers were not professional at all; instead they were courtiers who had no clue about classical technique.
