Hitler Youth Movement
Summary: The Hitler Youth Movement and their role in the rise of the Nazi's.
The Hitler youth known as the Hitler Jugend was formed in 1926. They played a major role in the rise of the Nazi party, about 90 percent of the Aryan children in Germany belonged to Nazi youth groups. They started at the age of ten and were trained until they were ready to join the army.
The aim of the organization was to ensure that all children were directly involved with Hitler's efforts to create his superior German race and to train and build a future army. In order for a child to join these groups they needed to possess much more than a love for their country. Each member needed to prove their true German blood by tracing back their family history as far as they could, obviously no-one with Jewish blood was allowed.
