Compare and Contrast Black Knight by Mark Twain and the film Black Knight with Martin Lawrence
Summary: A survey of both stories and how each one uses humor to create a plot were a knight is involved in showing the difficulties in putting on and wearing armor. Humor was a big part of both plots and so was the focus of modern day thoughts during medieval times.
Using humor in a story to help explain a plot was one of Mark Twain's methods of creating a story. Twain used basic details of how a knight in the 1800's might of felt about his armor. Black knight was more modern and showed how a person from our time might of reacted to the medieval time. In both plots a knight is involved in showing the difficulties in putting on and wearing armor. Twain's Story Comedy Knight goes more into the details of how the armor was worn and dealt with. Black Knight doesn't go into much detail of how the armor felt.
Mark Twain's Comedy Knight used interesting situations of how someone may react to wearing 50 pounds of metal armor. For example when he had to sneeze. Twain argued that the armor needed pockets to keep his handkerchief. Funny situations were used to grab the readers'...
