Recently a male student and a female student both applied to Yale. Yale accepted one and rejected the other. The girl scored a perfect 1600 on her SATs and maintained a 4.1 GPA. The boy received a 1350 on his SATs and had no other outstanding merits (Alex). If you were going to judge based on this the person that Yale chose, it seems obvious that you would pick the female student. However, you are missing a crucial piece of information.
