Prostitution at the tern of the century was a unquestionable problem that would be exposed by many people. Of these muckrakers Stephen Crane dealt with the problem by merely writing a book. Crane has written another book called "The Red Badge of Courage"

This book was called "Maggie, a girl of the Streets." This book is an adventure that explicates how a normal, but poor family, could allow there daughter to become nothing but a prostitute and later on die at a young age.

In the beginning her brother gets into a lot of fights and eventually her dad dies. Her brother assumes the responsibility of the father becoming exactly like him, abusive, drunk and even taking over his old job.
