Land of the Great Wines
Summary: No other country in the world rivals France for the diversity and the superiority of its wine. Two of the most prominent producing wine areas in that nation are Bordeaux and Burgundy. However, while these two regions are only 500 kilometers apart, they differ greatly in terms of history, weather, soil conditions, and types of grapes.

No other country in the world can rival France for the diversity and the superiority of its wine. Two of the most prominent producing wine areas in that nation are Bordeaux and Burgundy. Bordeaux occupies an almost perfect vine-growing region with its spectacular flat countryside. This magnificent land is situated south-west of France by the Atlantic Ocean. On the other hand, Burgundy which lies south-east of France about one hundred kilometers from the German border, is an area with rich history, gastronomy and wine.
