Summary: Two television journalism parodies and Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men" book examine the representations of the "truth" and how media manipulate and commodify "the truth."
It impossible to tell the truth, one can only represent it. Frontline created by Sitch utilises comic satire and irony to create humour to cause the viewer to reflect on the way in which the media represents the truth. Michael Moore's book `Stupid White Men - and other excuses for the state of the nation' is a prime example of a personal representation of the truth to create a politically persuasive text. Comic satire is also used in CNNNN to cleverly demonstrate in exaggerated form ways in which the media manipulate and adapt truths in a contest for high ratings and public appeal.
