The brain is perhaps the most important part of the human body. It is the "command center" of the nervous system which has several functions, many of which are related to the physical needs and actions of the body. Its main functions are to primarily control regulation of bodily activities, receive and interpret sensory impulses, and transmit information to the muscles and body organs. It also is the "seat" of thought, memory, and emotion. The brain practically controls everything.
The brain is physically one great mass of jelly-like tissue made up of approximately 100 billion neurons, neuralgia (supporting-tissue) cells, vascular (blood-carrying) and other tissues.
