Enormous Decision: The Atomic Bomb in World War II

Summary: Pros and cons of the United States' decision to drop two atomic bombs on Japan to end World War II.
Throughout history choices have been made with or without looking at the pros and cons. The choices we make effect everyone and everything around them and can have a direct impact on the future of our way of life. The choice today is not if the nuclear attacks on Japan during WWII were justified but if they were necessary. I will first explain the happenings and or what led up to the ultimate decision and then give some of my personal opinions.

The Japanese government had been working hard to end the war against their emperor and country before the first atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If the war could have been ended sooner, or an agreement was reached between the two sides fewer deaths would have accumulated on both sides.
