A Son Remembers His Father
Summary: A son visits his father's grave and recalls his father's funeral. Remembering his father fondly and missing him, the son begins a short conversation with him.
I go back through town and visit my father's grave and stay there for a long time. I sit there in the cemetery, staring at the gravestone with my fathers name on it. Many thought go through my mind they just keep spinning round and round and then finally I'm left with the memory of my dad's funeral. I cried at his funeral, I let the tears trample my face in the complete silence, guilty that I couldn't even summon the courage to speak about him. I knew everyone there was only thinking about what a drunk he was. I could've proved their thoughts wrong and shown them that he was more than just a drunken father, husband and son, but instead I sat a remembered other things.
