I went to see the production of Lend Me a Tenor, Saturday, February 12th at the University Theatre. Under the direction of Michael Landman, the eight company cast put on an well worth seeing play. Lend Me a Tenor combines elements of the Elizabethan Theatre with Opera to create a farce. A farce, by definition, is a simple, basic, broad comedy, with lots of misunderstanding and mistaken identities. Lend Me a Tenor is just that, a comedy with complete and total chaos. Ken Ludwig wrote the play Lend Me a Tenor. However, it was produced in London by Andrew Lloyd Weber's Really Useful Co. and was nominated for the Olivoer Award. It opened on Broadway in March 1989 and was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Play.
