The Man Who Had All the Luck: A Justification of Fate

After leaving the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1938, he began to sell his plays to the Federal Theater. Although Miller received critical acclaim for his works, they never reached the stage because the theater was closed because of suspicion of communism (Miller vi). This is what first flared Miller's writing of plays that pointed out the flaws in society and take a different stance on the topics of society such as the current McCarty era and people's belief in God and luck. Society at the time believed in God's plan and that everything happened for a reason. Miller took an opposite stance on this belief.
