Deism and Atheism separate schools of thought based around God and ones view of the world. Atheists reject the idea of a God or any supernatural force greater than man or nature. Parallel to this is the idea of the existence of an omnipresent God who has created the Earth and independent human race; this is the basis of Deism. During the 18th century Deism became the more accepted perspective of the world, because it gave the people solace and hope which in turn equipped them with the strength to deal with changes and chaos of the time. This is unlike Atheism which leaves people with no where to turn to when they can no longer be faithful in others.
