Were Contemporaries Correct in Viewing Chamberlain as a Peacemaker?
For many years, historians have debated whether Chamberlain was a peacemaker or was he simply a weak leader. In this essay I will be giving evidence for and against him being a peacemaker, including such things as the Treaty of Versailles and people's view towards it, the League of Nations and the effect that had on countries, and the Sudetenland and Chamberlain's actions on it. I shall then give my own opinion on whether Chamberlain truly was a peacemaker or not.
