In What Ways Were People's Lives Changed in Britain During the Second World War?
The Second World War appears to have had a big change on the lifestyles of most people. The effects of the war can be seen in many areas, including rationing, evacuation and the role of women. In this essay I will be giving evidence of how people's lives were changed, and whether it was for better or for worse.
When war broke out in September 1939, messages were given to people to try and keep them safe should they get attacked, including staying inside and carrying gas masks with them all the time, since there was a big fear of gas attacks. Also, cinemas and other places of big gatherings were closed to avoid crowding people together and create a target for bombings.
However, no attacks happened from Sep 1939 until April 1940, so people had begun...
