Arguments Against Animal Dissection in Secondary School
Dissection of animals in schools is an outdated and inhumane practice. This leads to the death of over six million animals in North America a year, it forces children to go through something they might not yet be ready to handle, and more advanced alternatives have been proven just as effective in educating youth.
The amount of death caused by animal dissection every year is over 6 million. This is in North America alone. That is higher than the amount of death caused by smoking throughout the world. Also, there have been cases where the animals to be dissected were put to sleep in morbidly inhumane ways, such as cats being drowned alive.
