Courage and Faith in "Alive"

Summary: How faith helped keep the plane-wreck survivors in the Andes Mountains survivors alive for more than 70 days in extreme conditions.
"In situations such as this, even reason cannot understand the infinite and absolute power of God over men... I have never believed in Him so much." These words were written by Arturo Nogueira in the Andes Mountains where he died in the arms of his friend Pedro Algorta. He had survived a plane crash along with thirty- two other people from Uruguay and was one of the last few that died before the final sixteen survivors were rescued. For seventy days they endured the coldest winter ever recorded in the Andes. Only through faith, that their parents had given them, and prayer, were these men able to live for that amount of time. Their inclusion of God into everything that they did, every decision that they made, was their saving grace.
