One of my daily routines is to scan the obituary page in the Nashville Tennessean. This routine started not out of a search for the morbid, but rather as a result of my job years ago. One of my duties when writing news for a radio station was the obituary. Since that time, I scan them routinely. I have seen some interesting obituaries over the years. All these brief biographies are written not just because one has died, but more importantly because they lived. They tell of a person's life, those who love them and the accomplishments achieved. Sometimes you get a glimpse of the passion of the deceased. Whether it is the education they received while living, or the profession that sustained them through the years, these are usually reflected in their obituary.
