Henry VII: The King that Revolutionized England
Over the years, English rulers have been considered either effective or ineffective. Henry V, for example, was seen as an excellent king because he had a strong sense of justice and military leadership (Griffiths 187). His son, Henry VI, was considered to be a dismal king because he was a pathetic leader and had occasional attacks of insanity (Griffiths 187). Henry VII was one of England's best kings because he broke the over-mighty nobility's power, he overhauled the crown's financial system, and he displayed smart foreign policy.
Unlike the Kings who had preceded him, Henry was able to break the mighty power of the noble class. The War of the Roses evidenced the fact that English nobles possessed far too much power over England. Henry was not willing to risk his crown or his country's well being over another royal feud...
