In the novel The Meeting Place, by Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn. This novel takes place in Minas and Halifax in a little village in both towns. It is taking place during the British and French war. The two main characters are Catherine, who is English and Louise, who is French. Catherine and Louise are similar, in which they love to visit and meet each other in the meadow.

In the beginning, Louise and Catherine were afraid to become friends because they are from different countries. Which are fighting and going to war at the time. They both live in two villages now, which are only a few miles apart. Louise and Catherine didn't become good friends until they ran into each other three or four times. Catherine saw Louise for the first time looking down to the "secret" meadow, seeing Louise picking berries and flowers, singing...
