South Florida Mangroves
Summary: There were many things that have affected the mangroves of south Florida. Early settlers, human interaction, and problems are some of the things that have affected the mangrove swamps.
Many of the mangroves in the United States are found in the southern part of Florida and the Gulf Coast. When the Mangroves in Florida were first discovered, the little number of tribes caused very little impact to the mangroves. Mangroves in Florida have a long history from their first inhibitors to the human interaction, and the dangerous they are facing. Many things have affected the wetlands in Florida, some for the best, and some for the worst.
The first people to reach Florida arrived at least 12,000 years ago. The Paleo-Indian were the first groups of indians to settle in Florida. They were nomadic hunter who settled near the coast and around good water supplies, good stone for tools, and plenty of firewood. The most dominant tribe of southern Florida was the Calusa Tribe. They were great sailors. They did little farming, but were outstanding hunters and fishermen...
