To What Extent Is Plastic Surgery a Good Thing
Summary: It could be argued that not all plastic surgery is justifiable. Cosmetic surgery is only justifiable when it improves psychologically deformed. On the other hand plastic surgery that only improves ones appearance is not justifiable. It has defined people such as Michael Jackson and Marylyn Manson who undergo numerous numbers of procedures to acquire a never-ending search for their own personal "ideal" beauty.
Plastic surgery, over the last 100 years, has become the number one alternative for those who desire a physical change of the body. From reconstructive surgery to laser hair removal, plastic surgery has overachieved what was though to be unachievable. This discovery has impacted the lives of many, both for good and for the bad. This invasive form of surgery does not come without a price. The patients undergoing surgery must endure physical and mental pain to achieve a higher level of self-esteem. And in some rare cases problems associated with the plastic surgery have been known to cause death. On the other hand, it gives physically deformed people a chance to fit in with society.
