Summary: A review of the novel "Over the Wall" by James Saunders, with an emphasis on the role of satire in the book.
The first impression we get from the play of over the wall portrays a fairytale. We know this because of the first line which says "There was once an island." This beginning is a stereotypical first line for a fairy tale. Though at first, this is the impression we are given, as the story soon develops it becomes more serious and shows the many different types of people in the world. He shows this in a scenario where eight different people with different beliefs and personalities are on an island. On the island is wall and the different characters are contemplating going over the wall itself.
