The first theme that has been chosen to report on from Mudrooroo's novel `Wildcat Falling' is `alienation from a culture breathes discontent'. This is a major theme in the novel because it is portrayed in the novel very clearly and is big part in the life of Dougens (main character) life. The second theme that will be reported on is `Growing up is a time of stress and confrontation'. This is a major theme for the reason that it is evidently affecting the main character right through the novel. Throughout the report there will be examples from additional text that will be supporting the two themes. This novel is the first novel ever published by an aboriginal in Australia which could suggest that the target audience for this novel are aborigines.
