Summary: Rani of Jhansi was an important figure in the fight for India's freedom from British colonalism.
During the midst of the 19th century, the British had cast a gigantic net over India. They spread their imperialistic rule through colonialism and making India its colony. Through the endless efforts and intelligent strategies carried out by the Indian freedom fighters, India, finally, achieved freedom on August 15th, 1947. Freedom fighters like Rani of Jhansi, Swami Vivekananda, Lokmanya Tilak, Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sorojini Naidu played key roles in freeing India from the clutches of the British. It was Rani of Jhansi who was on the forefront for initiating the struggle for independence. Born on November 19th, 1835, Rani of Jhansi, also known as Rani Lakshmi Bai, fought like a valiant warrior against the injustices of the British rule.
