Heinrich Himmler was one of the most influential men in World War II and in the Holocaust. Himmler was only second in command to Hitler. He was put in many high military positions before becoming Hitler's main man. Of his many military positions, he is most famous for being head of the SS. The SS was Hitler's personal bodyguards that carried out most of the mass killings of the Jews in the Holocaust. Hitler also appointed Himmler to be put in charge of the concentration camps, where he would carry out the killings of millions of innocent people. In this paper we will first run through Himmler's background as a child and then move on to his many military positions.
