The sonnet is a shakespearian sonnet because it consists of three quatrains and a heroic couplet instead of two quatrains and two tercets. The metrical pattern of the sonnet are jambic pentametres: "Shall I compare thee to a summer´s day"" It is written in cross rhymes and consist like every sonnet of 14 lines.
The sonnet is full of stylistic devices. The most common ones are metaphors, metaphorical constructions and smiles. The sonnet begins with a rethorical question that addresses directly the young woman the speaker is in love with. It is the introduction to the theme of the whole sonnet.
