Depression is a disease that affects many adults as well as teenagers in the world. This disease can be very dangerous in a teenager's life because depression can lead to suicide. Virginia Anderson of Tulsa World states in her article that ninety percent of teenagers who commit suicide had been diagnosed with depression or a similar mental health condition (D6). There are, however, very effective treatments to combat depression. As easy as the disease is to treat, it is relatively easy to obtain. Teenage depression can be triggered by many factors such as smoking, pre-marital sex, parent's divorce, or abuse.
