Summary: The worst kind of man is one who sees the problem, but does nothing to fix it. Andrew Carnegie was so-described in discussing the evils of industrialization which, for 99% of the population, was the antithesis of the American Dream.
The worst kind of man is one who sees the problem, but does nothing to fix it. Andrew Carnegie was one of the worst men alive in the time period of industrialization. Andrew Carnegie grew up in a poor household, and became one of the richest men in the world through his own efforts and hard work. Due to his personal success, he felt that poor people should not receive sympathy. He was in that position once, and he overcame his poverty and became a very successful man. Unfortunately, he was the one holding the poor people back. Carnegie was a steel mill owner, employing many, many men, women, and children.
