Preparing a Tax Return
As an intern at a local accounting firm, the main goal of this project is to prepare a client's tax return. On the next page, you'll see that there are six steps involved in this process of preparing a client's tax return, which include requesting client's information, making copy of the information, organizing and highlighting the main information, inputting client's information into Tax Preparation software, having someone else check it for accuracy, and printing out three copies, one for the client, the Internal Revenue Service (government), and a copy to keep on file.
The first step in preparing a client's tax return is to request the client's information by having the client fill out the tax organizer worksheets based on his situation, such as owning stocks or corporation.
