An Inspector Calls
The play, `An Inspector Calls, by J.B Priestly' is about average minded people and how their actions can badly affect someone, who appears to seem perfectly happy, but is not, without anyone being aware of it. It is also about discrimination in some sense, as it tells later on in the story. The story starts with Sheila Birling and Gerald Croft announcing their engagement, to the Birling family. Fortunately, for Gerald, the Birling family reacted positively towards the announcement as Gerald's father; Mr. Croft (senior) was exceptionally rich.
The play was set when the First World War was just beginning, in 1912. However, the play was actually written in 1946, just after the Second World War had finished. They had not had a huge general tragedy yet as the war had not yet taken place and was only talked about, and the cruise...
