Summary: Realism is a piece of work wherein plots and motifs contain realistic issues, hence "realism." Truth is an incident recorded in a manner which is conveyed wholly and precisely. The difference truth and realism is that realism contains truths, but it may be exaggerated or edited to focus on an exact issue. It is important that realism be based on truth. Realism should essentially be based on truths, otherwise it would be more "romanticism."Mark Twain chose realism.
When we read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the issue of Truth vs. Realism is a resounding one. It is of great importance to sort out Twain's intentions when writing this book, whether it was to provoke thought or whether it was just another "boy's book."

"Often, the surest way to convey misinformation is to tell the strict truth," Twain doesn't stick strictly to the truth, he bends it. This way, readers can get a bigger clearer picture of what Twain is trying to convey.
