What You Learn in Advanced Jewlery Class
Summary: The author of this essay shares what she learned when she took an advanced jewelry-making class. She includes detailed descriptions of the processes involved in the making of two rings.
During this fall semester, I fought a lot to take this jewelry class because of my curiosity I have had about this course. As this semester is concluding, I have come to the realization that I have learned a lot. I have made 3 different rings with the same basic steps to perusing a successful ring. We have had 3 types of rings assigned: Geometric shape, Initial ring, and a Bezel/Prong setting or a Script ring.
For my first ring I decided to make an oval shape. The first thing I did was draw out many shapes so I could see which one will come out the best. After deciding to go through on the oval shape, I had to measure my finger with the metal ring gauge. My size was an 8 ½.
