Summary: Cases where self defense is used as a justification for homocide may or may not be valid due to the ethnicity, geographical area where the trial occurs, social interpretation and an "arrest the winner" mindset of law enforcement officers.
In the justice system today there are too many loopholes. People are committing crimes, such as murder, and getting away with it. The most common plea for these people is self-defense. If someone attacks you it doesn't give this person a get out of jail free card. Self Defense is defined as "The right to defend oneself with whatever force is reasonably necessary against and actual or reasonably perceived threat of personal harm."(Street Law, 647) This means to protect yourself from bodily harm with what `you' think is necessary force. Many people really don't follow this definition. We as people feel if we are attacked that gives a person to defend ourselves until death.
