Summary: Tracy Ellison, a young girl with knockout looks, slanted hazel eyes, tall hair, and attitude, as she comes of age during the hip-hop era. Motivated by the material life, Tracy, her friends, and the young men who will do anything to get next to them are plunged into a world of violence, gratuitous sex, and heartbreak. Slowly, Tracy begins to examine her life, her goals, and her sexuality
Have you ever had a role model or wished you could be someone else who had something you didn't? Later, you figure something that makes you not want to be that person and your glad to be yourself. This is what this book is mostly about. It's about a girl named Tracey Ellison growing up in Philadelphia. She starts off with both parents living in the home, at the beginning of this book it focuses on them. Their relationship isn't so happy. Tracey's parents are thinking about divoring, but then decided to separate for a while. Tracey was left without a father, but it doesn't affect her because she is too young.
