Summary: The efforts of the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) and the FCC to censor music, under the guise of protecting the youth of America, is an infringement on the rights of music artists to speak their minds. Such unjust censorship must be brought to an end.
Censoring Our Rights

Is music a form of speech? If yes, then it would be protected from censoring under the first amendment. This, however, is not the case today in America. The P.M.R.C. (Parents Music Resource Center) and the FCC have been censoring music for over fifteen years. This is an infringement on the rights of music artists to speak their minds while under the guise of protecting the youth of America.

For over fifteen years the PMRC, a group of senators wives, has been pushing harder and harder to ban and label any music they deem obscene, vulgar, and damaging to minors. Combined with many right-winged religious groups they attacked any artists they see as offensive including AC/DC and Sheena Easton (Vanette). They signed petitions and held senate hearings to force record labels into banning or labeling any music that they didn't agree...
