Summary: The 'Legend' of Noah's ark is explored with a view to three possible explanations. Science vs religion is at the heart of the debate.
Noah's Ark was an incredible story about faith, determination, dedication and triumph. It was meant to give inspiration to the uninspired and make people believe that with a little persistence anything is possible. You can even build an ark, by yourself, that would hold two of EVERY land animal, enough food and water to feed them and even be able to keep up maintenance with the help of seven family members. Maybe it's just me, but that seems a little too far fetched, even for the Bible.

The first alternative appears to be a lot of wishful and optimistic thinking. Balsiger and Sellier mention some fish and shell fossils atop Mt. Everest, and they believe that these mountains were once covered with water. Now personally, I can't dispute that fact one way or another but it does seem a bit out of reach.
