Reasons for the Hijab
Summary: In Islam's Holy Quran, the Hijab is a required style of dress for women who must cover her body from head to feet with special attention paid to the neck and breasts. The reason is to limit sexual desire.
The Hijab is the Islamic dress which covers the women's body from her head to her heels, including the neck and breast regions. God command women in the Quran to cover their bodies completely by this Hijab. That means a woman should not show any part of her body to hungry eyes of foreign men. In addition to that, the woman who shows parts of her bodies to strangers is not a respectable woman and so she can not be a good wife or a good mother. This is one side of the social importance of the Hijab, it protects men from temptation and this also protects women. That means wearing the Hijab is not only obedience of God's commands, it is also a protection for women and for society in general.
