Healthcare of the Elderly in the UK
The rapid growth of the United Kingdom's elderly population has led to a strong provision of healthcare being supplied from them. People are living far longer than they ever have with many people expected to live into their eighties and even their nineties. The government is now meeting the health and housing needs of older people and giving them the support and services which are essential to them.
Elderly people have a meeting with a social worker to see what kind of help that they need and they organise for them to receive a range of services. Firstly there are day care centres which they can go to. The centres are places where older people can go for a few hours a day.
