Why Do People Set Their Hopes High?
Summary: An observation about why people will set their hopes and standards high, knowing full well about the possibility that whatever they want will not happen and they will be devastated.
"Homerun" was shouted over the loud speaker. Fire works flashed with a rainbow of colors. The shake of the sound waves of the crowd was being felt by every fan in the stadium. "That makes the score four to zero" was heard by the deep voice of the announcer, but was barely heard with the uproar of the crowd who was already celebrating there sue win. How can a team lose with a lead like that? It may seam impossible, but it happened to that team. All those fans were extremely devastated with the end result. The reason those fans were so disappointed was because they set there hopes and standards too high. That's why I wonder why people will set there hopes and standards high, knowing well enough that there is a chance that whatever he wants will not happen and they will be devastated.
