To Conquer or To Be Conquered?
Summary: European nations were able to conquer territories in Africa and Latin America because of their geography, their desire for glory and for spreading their knowledge, and their advancements in technology. The isolation and lack of advancement on the part of the conquered lands made it harder for them to advance to the degree that the Europeans did.
