The Paralympic Games is an official equivalent of the Olympics for athletes with physical, visual, or intellectual disabilities that compete. Canada is a world leader in advancing the interests of athletes with a disability. Forty countries are expected to participate in the 2010 Paralympics Winter Games, estimated 600-800 athletes and 5,000-8,000 volunteers.
