The Odyssey

Summary: The Odyssey is an underlying love story, wrapped up in the incredible tales of Odysseus the great, in the book, The Odyssey.
The story of Odysseus in the Odyssey tells about his adventures with an underlying love connection. It is hard to determine whether the Odyssey is an adventure story or a love story. The book as a whole describes Odysseus' adventures; however, the story is based upon a love story. The fact that the reason he wants to return to Ithaca is to reunite with his family, but along the way, he encounters hardships and obstacles to over come in order to just get back home safe to his family. Overall, I would describe Homer's tale of Odysseus as an adventure story.
