Comparing Two Arthurian Legends
Summary: Two fine examples of Arthurian legends that differ in terms of the `style' are "The Coronation of King Author" written by Sir Thomas Malory and "Hollow Hills" composed by Mary Stewart. Despite `style' related differences, these two stories are similar in some ways.
Arthurian legends have raised eyebrows for several decades; are the stories based on myths or actual historical events that took place during the European Middle Ages? Or perhaps a mixture of both? There is no clear-cut answer that verifies the source of these controversial stories, or even a "correct" version of these stories, for they have been passed on orally through generations and generations and has thus caused alterations, modifications, abridgements and even contradictions to the original story. Each writer, storyteller, and even movie director has his or her own `style' when it comes to portraying these stories; they each have their own distinctive way in presenting their `versions' to the story.
