History of Sewing Machines
Hand sewing is a very ancient form of art that was practiced by early people for more that 20 000 years ago. In the beginning sewing was very primitive. Needles of bones or animal horns and threads of animal sinew were used at first. But as time passed by, sewing developed and became more and more popular. In 14th century iron needles were introduced for the first time and in the 15th century they achieved eyes to make it easier for the thread to be attached.
In 1800s the most important discovery in textiles was made - the sewing machine was invented. It's not that simple to decide who should get the most credit for this relevant innovation, as there were many, who helped to make sewing mechanical and all of these pioneers should be respected for their hard work.
