The Making of Paper and Metallic Currency
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is where the U.S.'s money is created. Printing the nation's paper money is very important and therefore it is left up to the professionals at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. At the Bureau everything is done mostly by hand to prevent from counterfeiting. Many steps are taken in the printing process of paper currency.
The engravers at the Bureau will use metal and a paintbrush to do there job. With just those tools the job is very difficult. These engravers will begin there work from a drawing, a painting or a photograph. From those they will have to cut dots, dashes, and curved lines into the master die for later use.
