Discrimination
Throughout history many people have been denied the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. There are certain groups that have been denied these rights, one of which are the African Americans. They have suffered and fought for many years to gain their rights. From the early 1600's to now people have been discriminating against African Americans.
The African American people have not always been discriminated against. They used to be free people in Africa, or work, as servants by there own free will. That all changed in the early 1500's. The first African Americans were brought to the Caribbean by Portuguese traders in 1502. The Portuguese would round the Africans up like sheep, put them in boats and transport them from Africa to the Americas. More than 10 million people were transported from Africa to America.
